The Colby Center for Psychiatry is dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care to clients and their families. As an integral part of Adirondack Medical Center we are also dedicated to providing community based education on issues related to Mental Health problems, assessment and treatment.

 

THE COLBY CENTER FOR PSYCHIATRY VISION STATEMENT

To be the lead provider of mental health care for adults 55 years of age & older in need of inpatient care.

  
 
 
 
   

Inpatient Program

The Colby Center For Psychiatry is a secured, 12 bed inpatient unit for individuals 55+ with a mental health diagnosis in need of immediate treatment. The program serves 10+ counties in Northern New York.

Patients meeting criteria for admission can be admitted voluntarily or involuntarily (if they are a danger to themselves or others).

The inpatient program consists of:

    • Specialized treatment plans designed specifically for the unique mental health needs of the individual.
    • A variety of comprehensive, intensive therapy sessions daily, focusing on relieving symptoms, developing skills and obtaining the knowledge needed to function in the community.
    • A comprehensive treatment team of psychiatric professionals who provide the tools for effectively dealing with the social, medical and emotional issues surrounding each individual.
    • Daily mental health and medication assessment by a psychiatrist.
    • Group & family counseling.
    • The assurance of uninterrupted continuity of care with individualized discharge plans.
  
 
 
 
     

Referrals To The Colby Center for Psychiatry
